Wickenburg Veterinary Clinic was established in 1986 by Dr. John Oplinger. His first location was in a tiny building next to the fire station. That building is where he built his reputation as a kind, dedicated and caring veterinarian. His current location was completed in 1998 and was designed with client and patient in mind; comfortable and relaxing where critters are definitely allowed on the furniture! At Wickenburg Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Oplinger practices general veterinary medicine for small animals. The community of Wickenburg has a year-round population of less than 9,000 residents. It is this small town that drew him here and the people the reason he stayed. Surprisingly, Dr. Oplinger’s first career choice was forestry, but he soon realized there would not be enough jobs available in that field. He put his love of science, biology, and chemistry to work thru veterinary medicine. If Dr. Oplinger had a mission statement, it would simply be to do everything humanly possible to care for and treat all animals in his care.
